Flat Sheath Heaters
Flat sheath heaters are among the range of heater components that the team here at Hedin Heaters provides to customers across the world. Our flat sheath heaters are of a standard design and consist of a wire or taped element that is spaced at measured intervals over a mica former. Then, it’s insulated with strips that are placed across the mica that is encased in metal.
These products are suitable for temperatures of up to 250°C, and we recommend firm clamping to ensure heat is transferred as effectively as possible and to give the heater longevity. If necessary, fixing holes can also be provided and our friendly sales team will discuss with you exactly what you need.
We take a bespoke approach to everyone we work with, ensuring you get the product you need and the service you deserve.
Flat sheath heaters delivered across the world
For more than 80 years, the Hedin Heaters team has manufactured quality products and delivered them to customers across the world. As one of the nation’s most reliable and well-respected suppliers of industrial heaters and heating elements, when you order flat sheath heaters from our team you can rest assured that you’re receiving the very best products and service.
We can also supply unsheathed mica elements for machines where clamping plates provide a metal surface on one side. Here, the insulated element will be used to conduct heat more directly. This is an advantage as it is far more flexible and can be easily fitted around the circumference of a circular die.
With both sheathed and unsheathed heating elements, a graded winding may be supplied to give additional heat at one or both ends.
Insulated leads are fitted as standard on mica insulated heaters, 2BA terminal studs on refractory heaters, and the following options are available.
Terminations:
- Beaded leads
- Fibreglass leads
- Stud terminals in place of leads (on mica insulated heaters)
- Two pin terminal housing
- Terminal cover
We also offer additional extras including fixing or thermocouple holes and chamfered/fillet corners. In addition to this, rubber mat heaters are available for temperatures not exceeding 230°C.
